About Positivli

Tina (Christiane Evans) has tutored math and language, and provided creative ideas to resolve conflicts and challenges. Through tutoring, she is hoping to support education and promote learning and understanding where possible.

Early Experiences

The excitement of learning to read, that Tina felt when she first realized that she could read the signs in a store window, has continued to influence Tina’s choices in education in later years. Tutoring was a natural step to try to pass this joy of learning on to others.

When discovering how conflicts hindered communications in people’s interactions, she found that conflict seemed to also have an impact on learning. Many times all it took was a third person’s perspective to gain insight and ease the conflict.

Making it Real

It all starts with language. Language can be misunderstood, but it can also be a great tool to open a window to other cultures. We will find how the intricacies of language and meanings can be understood, and we look forward to exciting new conversations.

Math has a language of its own. The process is like adding building blocks to what we have already learned. If we miss one, the whole tower of blocks may be shaky. As Math is often a dreaded subject, we hope to take the dread out of it... and who knows, at some point it may turn out to be fun.

It takes listening, empathy, and creative thinking to understand where the challenge lies. Once we find the road block, we use relative examples, and explain it in a way that things make sense.

It has been shown that outside influences that cause stress can interfere with a student’s ability to learn. Keeping this in mind, finding ways to address issues and possibly getting them resolved, has a positive impact on learning.
